When flesh and blood fail me
And friends are untrue
I look not to people
But cry, Lord, to You.

I know you'll uphold me
And help me to stand
That I'm held securely
Within your great hand

Believe that you love me
With fervor untold
See mercies each morning
With healing unfold.

I know that you've searched me
And called me by name
I know that your love is
Forever the same

Believe that my failures
Are drowned in your grace
That I may come boldly
To seek my God's face.

I'll walk in your presence
With joy on this earth
For your blood and suffering
Secured all my worth

The years that I've wasted
You, Christ, can restore
My Lord is well able
To give me much more.

For you heal the broken
And bind up their scars
You, Christ, while you number
And name all the stars.

I'll be of good courage
And draw strength from you
